12strings and acoustic pickups

I've not used a pickup in an acoustic guitar until recently and reluctantly. But am starting to experiment a bit.

The best sounding pickup I have of the four is an LR Baggs active iMix in my walnut C-09.

I've recently bought a mini-K&K Pure to try, but haven't decided what to put it in.

I also want to try a pickup in a 12string, probably my D03-12.

I was thinking that an LR Baggs Ibeam might be a good 12 string pickup, as it seems to have good bass response where its 1/2 of the Imix combo.

So, any thoughts on the Ibeam as a 12string pickup? Other suggestions?

yeah LR Baggs will be a great choice...simple to install and amazing and natural sounding...but watch out humming. All the best.

I like the IBeam and I haven't had any problems with bass response in large body guitars, as some have reported. They are easy to place and change position if necessary.

oh yeah I think it could be due to the position of the feedback monitor.

Install the iBeam slightly towards the treble end of the saddle as I find the volume tends to drop off on the high E's. Bass response isn't affected. I've used an iBeam in my L03-12 and in my Yamaha FG720-12.

When I posted this I had my eye on an ibeam for sale on ebay. At the last minute the price shot way up on it and I didn't 'win' it.

I'll get one though, but will shop around for a good price or a used one.
