I've been playing him plugged in at church since we moved.  He has a Fishman Active Matrix right now. I don't care much for the sound. It doesn't do him any favors, and he really is a great sounding guitar. What would be my best bet (without cutting any holes in the side, etc.)

Hi Deb, I hope you are all settled in now.  I still favor the IBeam a lot, and the Element is also very good.  Both would install with little or no mods.  Make Pete sing!  J

Deb, you might try a Sweet Spot. Goes right in to replace the fishman and doesn't need a preamp. Loud pickup though, you will probably want some sort of volume control on it. Talk to unclrob about them.
