You can usually pick up a sweet spot or Tahoe for that or not much more.

That stick on pickup has a tendancy to be a little to microphonic.

Unclrob can speak to this with more authority than I but as I recall, the first pickups (other than the soundhole magnetic types) that were available as aftermarket items for acoustics were similar the DM you refer to. The first one I remember was the F.R.A.P. and while not bad, they did not set the world on fire and tended to have feedback problems and microphonic qualities (that is basically the same thing). I guess that can be handy if you want to sing into your guitar.  :GRN>

There were a few others along the same line including the predeccessor of this pickup (or maybe the same model). My favorite was one that looked like a buffalo nickel but I don't remember who made that one. It could have been DM. Don't know how it sounded but I remember it as looking cool.

Then we went through the Barcus Berry Hot Sports and finally then the under saddle Piezos. They had the undersaddles all along but they were more frequently used as standard equipment by Burns of London (Baldwin) and Ovation.

Now we have expanded to better soundboard pickups such as the PUTW, B-Band, K&K etc. Each has had advantages and disadvantages. The DM you asked about is not intended as a permanent addition and will probably not provide as full a sound as a properly installed sweet spot.

You may be looking for one that you can easily remove with no trace remaining. I would (in fact I did) get the sweet spot.

Dang Don How'd you get so smart????

The original purpose of these pickups was for piano soundboards.
