Not a band but every time I listen to Linda Ronstadt i feel all warm inside :D Also Hall and Oates old stuff(Sarah Smile, She's Gone, etc).

Kim Mitchell is a DJ on a rock station in Toronto these days, Q107 I think.  He played at the Lone Star Cafe in Ottawa about the same time as the Deep Purple, April Wine...etc show.

Oh man, Dutch Mason really brings back some memories!  Spent many a night hanging out at the Turret Blues Bar in Halifax back in the seventies when Dutch Mason's group was the house band.  Talk about a hard living, hard drinking band!  
To the list add the late, great Rory Gallagher.

Linda always had one of the tightest bands around backing her. Guys like Waddy Wachtel, Dan Dugmore, Lee Sklar, Andrew Gold. They were great.
