Here is a different question: If you were going to buy a guitar with the idea of it being your last guitar, but had a $1500 limit (or thereabout), what would you buy. Just from what I have heard, I would have to consider the Breedlove Revival DR.

An L-09 or L-10. A quality instrument, with excellant tone, good looks, and versatility of playing styles.

That would depend on what I already had in my stable. What styles do you play? What guitars do you already own? Do those guitars appropriately address those styles?

At the $1000-$1500 range, I firmly believe that one cannot find a better, more versatile instrument than a Larrivee L-body.

In that price range, I've yet to play a guitar I liked better than the Breedlove OM Revival series. Excellent craftmanship and a full deep tone from a small body guitar. They are very much on par with the Santa Cruz OM/PW I owned.

I've give up on the idea of buying my last guitar. The last 5 or 6 have been my last one. :D  I like to think in terms of my next one.

There's no such thing as the last guitar purchase.I've left it in my will that my wife and son are to continue to purchase  guitars long after I'm gone..... :)

A J-10.  Really, I'd probably like a JV-10, but they're harder to find.

Of course, by the time I get enough money to buy one, my wish list will probably have changed several times.

If it was to be my last guitar, I would probably try to blow the budget beyond $1500, then tell my wife it is my last one and see if she goes along with that.

I have to hang with Fergy on this one although I like Rob's legal mind. A will, who would have ever thought of putting that in your will! Brilliant!

Impossible question. Best all roud instrument I've played is a Huss & Dalton CM. You could buy a half of one for 1500. Second choice is same as Randy, some flavor of an L09.

Am already looking at my next guitar. Am hoping to get a Rainsong Advanced WS-1000. Love the fact is a smaller bodied guitar, cutaway and has electronics. Besides am hooked on that carbon tone. This will be my playout guitar, for open mics, etc.  Patrick

I would have to agree with SlowFingers & TalorFishing, it would be the Breedlove Revival OM. So much sound out of such a small box. Oh my god is it sweet :D
