I was browsing ebay and came across this 9 string Alverez Yairi. Anybody ever played a 9 string?

I think Leadbelly used a 12er strung up with 10 or 9... I like the idea.

wonder if theres a "tension issue" on the neck? seems like it would throw it out of whack?

anyone ever seen roger mcguinns 7 string martin? those are cool and it sounds like a 12 string when he plays it. that guy is pretty amazing.

I have a nine string mando-guitar thing from Dean. It's kind of a toy but it's amusing.

Big Joe Williams was the "Giant of the 9 String Guitar". Check out some of his recordings. It's a cool sound (probably more Joe than the guitar)

I think this is more interesting....

8-string Eichelbaum guitar. Of course, you've got to have a healthy bank account for an Eich. :)
