I usually don’t start many threads here but my Forum VI just got a string change to Martin Retro Monels tonight.

I usually use D’Addario light gauge (EJ16) but I am really pleased with these Retros. I had an Anthem no cut dual source installed and ran these strings through both settings with great results. I also installed the Tortoise bridge pins with this string change but I still haven’t added my tortoise shell pickguard which was packed in the case. I also upgraded to an arch top case which matches the case from my 12 string Larrivee.

I’ll grab a set of Retros for my parlor to for the next string change.

I am also a new fan of the Martin Retro Monel strings for my OM40r.  The silver strings on an acoustic take some getting used to, but I really enjoy these strings!  I find them a little darker and not so bright as the EJ16's, although the EJ16's are my usual go-to.  Those Monels last a long time also!
