My picks arrived today! Thank you, Mark!

They look great, and just the right thickness.

I am doing some sanding on the playing edge to get it to the tone I'm looking for.

Happy to see they are starting to arrive. They were all mailed on Tuesday.

Sand away! I do the same thing.

Great work. What a gift, gonna keep the envelope, note and picks in the case as provenance.
Thank you!

All the picks that were requested have been mailed as of today. There are still a few of you out there that have not requested the picks. It's cool if you don't want them, but I do have more printed, just waiting here. :wave

I read my post and could have been misunderstood ALL the picks were going in the case.
They aren't. Two are being played and I would like some opinions on "how" to sand them.
I like that the picks are slightly larger than a normal pick is, and that the picks are easy to grip.

You can use either files or sandpaper. So far, I've used a "sanding pick" that came with some Snark picks I bought (each package of 12 Snark picks has a "pick file" in the package; see pic of the pick file below). Like a nail file, the pick file has a "shaping" (rougher grit) side and a "finishing"
(finer grit) side to use.

On the Forum VI picks, I started by rounding the tip a little, making it just slightly less pointy (which should give a rounder tone). Then I round the edge of the pick (which is pretty square as received) with the shaping side, and smooth it some with the finishing side. I'll probably also pull out some finder sandpaper in 600, 1500 and 2000 grit to really polish off the pick when I'm happy with the tone it produces. You can also use a microfiber cloth to polish the edges of the pick somewhat.

It's a process ... you just have to be patient, take your time, and keep testing the pick on the strings to get the tone you're looking for. I'm not there yet - haven't had enough time to finish one to satisfaction (darn work - having a real job gets in the way of my hobbies!).

Good luck!

That sounds like the perfect method to get good results.

Sand and file away! If you mess one up you have more. Use the "Mistake Pick" as a test subject. Well the first 9 of you that get a "Mistake Pick" They are all gone now. In any event, if you need a replacement, it can be arranged.  :beer

Got my 'hallmark envelope' today.  Many thanks, Mark, for doing this.  Indeed a unique way to celebrate a wonderful guitar and the process that got it to us.
Ralph

The "Hallmarks" were provided by my better half.

I still need to get Rockysdad his picks too. I have been isolating for the past 2 weeks after testing positive for COVID-19 on February 3rd.

All better now with a Negative at home test today and a PCR follow-up tomorrow.

I should be all clear to leave the house early next week.
