I have been waiting for DAYS to do the "strings as free upgrade" line.
You gave it some legs, though, thank you!

Shouldn't the strings be walnut, too?

Have you ever seen the video of Ewan Dobson playing the guitar strung with dental floss?
Anything is possible.

It might be a good idea for anyone on the spreadsheet to send me the following info via PM

The title should be your "forum" name

Not sure we will need it, but it just seems to be a good idea.
I will keep track in an unseen part of the spreadsheet, and may color code those who have responded.
I don't know "when" or exactly "what" John will send me regarding price, info, etc, since we have not been part of the dealer selection and don't know if the process will have worked out.
If anyone has any better ideas, let me know.

FWIW, I think personal info is only required by the dealer.

It is Sunday, and I want to correct something I said before.
The F-VI is not the forum guitar that lifted off this quickly.
The Forum IV holds that space, but admittedly, not in our category as the F-IV was an all-hog 00-03, not an out of production guitar with special wood.
Actually, the thread started on Nov 23, 2009 and ordering for the first run ended on Dec 15, 2009.
Jim Holler at Trinity was the point person for everything and from an early stage.
Members were putting down deposits for the guitar before the final specs were even known.
Since the basic model and basic specs were known, some folks were unhappy they could not get a price on the guitar after only 3 days from when the thread started.

Our thread has been more cordial. And we are going about it completely different.
We are doing this when Larrivee is very busy, supply chains unreliable and certain woods in short supply.
We didn't start out with a price point, and except for being an LS-03, had no idea of final specs.
We have had the benefit of coordination all along with John Jr, and we know Jean has been involved in picking wood and obtaining other info we were interested in.
We do not yet have the benefit of a known dealer, who will specify the ordering process and who may have input of their own.

I think we done good for ourselves, and right now, we should enjoy this little pause that surely precedes whatever comes next.

Mike,

You have herded the cats well! Not to a predetermined conclusion, but much harder, to a good consensus that satisfies this crew. "Chapeau!" as the French would say.

Looking forward to next steps in the process which will make these special guitars even more treasured for us being part of the team.

Meow? And "chapeau" is French for hat. "Bien fait" signifies a job well done, and Mike has certainly done that, and more! And I'm guilty as heck of peeking here for updates a time or ten. Exciting stuff...

For bicyclists, "Chapeau" is the equivalent of "extraordinarily well done" . I'm a lot better cyclist than guitarist!

And so we wait...

UPDATE
Spoke with John, who will be making a post to this thread later to let everyone know about what is happening, with complete information.
John is making the post cause I could not possibly get everything right.
The only thing in the spec Larrivee won't do is the wood rosette, so we have to decide what rosette we want from available options, herringbone, rope, alalone....
But, we did get the moonwood.

Preference for Abalone. They are all fine rosettes and whatever we decide, will be fine.
