Well, I have had quite a week!

Started with getting a warranty work done plus a bone saddle & my action lowered.
Got the bonus of finding out my LV-03RE is of the 'red spruce' variety. B)

But it got better, much better. Alison Krauss & Union Station played the Universal Amphitheater on Thursday. Had a 3rd row seat in the pit that I got for a steal on eBay. The show was unreal!

Anyway, yes, she has a great voice and plays a fine fiddle; but Jerry, Dan and Ron elevate the show. I was particularly surprised by Ron Block. Whether he was playing guitar or banjo, he was incredible.

OK, so my problem is figuring out what open tuning they use for certain songs. “Gravity” in particular, the first track on the new AKUS CD, was an open tough to figure out. Dan used a capo on the 4th fret, using a transposed G, C, & D chords. But Ron had a big dread, tuned low!  I think it was:

6: B (Down 2 ½ steps)
5: F# (Down 1 ½ steps)
4: B (Down 1 ½ steps)
3: F# (Down ½ steps)
2: B
1: E

Anybody care to concur or disagree?

Also, is there a good place on the web that one can find these great open tunings?

TYIA,
Tim
