Funny how things happen sometimes. We've new neighbors, and running into the her yesterday out and about led to my discovery of her intention to sell her guitar. "$900 bucks" she says, "what I paid for it new." Said she'd play it for a few months then stop for a few years and repeated the cycle for the past 20 years. So I stopped by yesterday on my way home and asked to take a look. She handed it to me and just told me to take it home and spend some time with it. It's one of those guitars that when you lift it out of the case it feels as though it's going to fly away. Or maybe float is a better description. It is very articulate, both with fingers and pick. I hadn't played a Martin in several years and this particular neck profile, and I'm not yet sure of the particulars, felt very comfortable, and even with the 2-11/16" width. It's close in body size to my OM-40, is 14 frets to the body, and I'm pretty sure it has found a new home. It's got a few light character dings, no cracks and the neck, which is dovetailed from what I was able to read, is solid and straight. Very little fret wear for a 25 year old guitar. I'll post some pics after I seal the deal.

That should be a very nicely made little guitar... Martin made the early 16 series to very nice specs (dovetail neck joint, gloss finish, high quality woods, etc.), Does this one have a gloss finish, or a gloss top? What is the actual model # in the sound hole (on the neck block, maybe?)?

000-16 stamped on the block, made in '93 per their site. Satin finish and beautiful fretboard inlay.
