D-40 v. D-05

It appears the D-40 is less expensive than the D-05.  Why?  What are the differences other than the cosmetic stuff?

I think I just answered my own question - D-40 is satin finish. Looks like it is similar to the D-03 line.

D-40 and D-05 have different bracing, headstocks, tuners, purfling, rosettes and  fret markers besides the satin / gloss difference you noted.  The shape, top, back and side woods are the same.
