i am a serious L 09 fan but i traded a decent guild 12 string from 97 for a larrivee D 09 dread, had a top crack, got it fixed and just back from the repairman.  it is a really nice guitar even to the ear of a L 09 lover. i plan to sell it eventually but for now it's a lot of fun to play.  the rosewood looked odd, but i checked the serial number with the larrivee web site and it says dalbergia latifilia,  so it is indian rosewood,  the guitar was dry as abone, hence the split.  however we put it in the humidity room for a week and it closed the crack pretty good, then glued and cleated. made in canada.

i do wonder the difference between the D 03 to 10 series and the d 40, 50, and 60??? what is the difference

I've had a few dreads thru the lately,a couple of Taylors,a Gibson and a couple Martins.Right now I have a 70 Westone D28 copy looks like a solid Brazilian back and side and a solid top sounded pretty nice but it needed the bridge shaved and the frets need to be dressed I'll now more in a few days.
