of the furry kind...

I'm bringing this little guy home, Thursday. He's only 6.5 hours from here.  lol

He's a 12 week old, male, Tibetan Terrier.

The breeder is well known nationally. She owned the #1 TT "Female", (proper term got censored. lol) 2015, 2016 ,Reserve Best in Show, Multiple Group Winning, Multiple Westminster and Eukanuba Invitee & AKC Silver Grand Champion, "RBIS GCHS Ivyglenn Caroline's The Last Shall Be First" She is retiring, and this is her last litter.

It's been 4 years since our first TT, Shadow died. I never thought I would get another dog but here I am...

Here's is the old boy...   RIP.

On his 14th birthday. (sorry for the blurry photo)

With my youngest one Christmas morning many years ago. Melissa will be 19 in December.

If you are not familiar with this breed, here are a couple of links.

I have experienced the deep sadness of a recent loss of a pet as well and feel like you did. Time will tell if I am able to recover somewhat as you have.

We lost our Australian Shepherd the day after Labor Day, she would have been 14 on July 6th.  Always tough when you lose a family member and it takes time to recover enough to get another...

Long day driving 13 hour round trip to pick up the little guy from the breeder in southern Indiana.

He was perfect. No crying or whimpering. No peeing or otherwise! Slept about 60-70% of the ride home in my daughter's lap. A few attempts at exploring the car, which I think was him just wanting to stretch his legs.

So, 6.5 hours in the car and as soon as we got home, we let him walk around the yard and he peed. Ate a full 3/4 cup of food, drank a bowl of water. Daughter took him out about 20 minutes later to wait for him to go again. She was out there for at least 30 minutes and the mosquitoes were getting bad so she brought him in. He finished the bowl of water and proceeded to pee on the tile floor. lol As she was wiping that up, she failed to notice the "poop walk" and yep, he pooped on the tile floor. Totally expected with one so young. He is in his crate and in bed for the night. We expect some crying tonight as he used to share his crate with his brothers. First night away. We'll see how it goes...

More photos on my FB page if you want to see them.

Pets are such a wonderful addition to our lives. Congratulations on your new family member. We're down to two dogs, a cat who thinks he's a dog and a chicken that often joins us all on the deck at cocktail time.
