Finally i can post pics again, no I didn't do anything different.....

I have a couple guitars in the "vault" which is a perfectly controlled humidity and temperature room.
These guitars stay in their cases as they are fragile.
Recently I wanted to restring, polish up and play the original 1971 Guitar jean Built in his basement shop in Toronto.

This poor old thing has had several repairs over the years, cracks, braces, but it STILL has it's original finish and pick guard (which is why the finish is lighter under it, despite where it's worn through).

It got a new saddle put in, and the original Grover tuners were re-installed, after they were completely dis-assembled and re lubricated.
yes it's possible to do this, the gear oil does get hard, and they can be cleaned out and new gear lube put in, then carefully re assembled.
I DO mean carefully, there are more tiny washers and bearings in the older grovers than there are in the newer ones.
Note the flat head screws on this set.
Suffice to say they work extremely well, (better than the newer replacements that were on it).

No this guitar does not go very far from home.
It does however have very good intonation and stays in tune very well considering it's history.
It's quite stable,as you can see it was lacquered inside. still has it's original finish.
and more MoJo than even Willie Nelson's Martin.

It's a joy to play, neck line is good, action as good as any of my other Larrivee's.
Honoured to be the care taker of this, the first Steel String Jean made.
It's all buffed up and shiny sitting on my living room couch, getting played every day.
A short 2 hour drive from where it was put together, a scant 47 years ago......

Too few brain cells to be bothered with...

"Sounds" awesome, but if you meant to include pics, I'm not seein' 'em...

...could be one of those "senior moments" things mentioned in your tag line...

Pffft. Willie Nelson's Martin. It's not like it was made by CF the first.  :cheers

I've tried three different ways to upload pics.
I usually don't have any problem doing so, for some reason, it's not working today...
I'll investigate further....

I use https://postimages.org/  to host photos now. It's fast and free. You don't even need to sign up to post photos.  I signed up because I like to organize my photos.

Yeah I've tried everything and still can't post photo's

Postimages.org ..at first I could post a link to my photo's, now even that does not work. So we can't post from our computer or ipad & can't post using a third party photo site. Other sites, I can post photo's like crazy but not agf, cgf and this site.

Amazing in this day and age that posting photo's could be difficult or impossible.

I bet your '71 is very nice.

weird server, moody, like me I guess, finally got pics up..
