So, I decided I wanted to learn how to play Bye Bye Love, and I wanted to be true to the original.  The first couple of videos I watch looked pretty straight forward.  Easy, peasy. Then I saw a video of their first performance of the song.  Son of a gun, Don was using open tuning.  Started doing some sleuthing, and all of those great guitar riffs are in open tuning.  Guess that is the country training.

I would not have guessed that, but it’s good to know.  I love the Everly Bros and believe Don to be a pretty underrated player.  Their dad was really great too.  So much talent in one family.
