Anyone have one? Or know details about them?

I know the Guild maple Jumbo 12 strings made in the 60's were considered the best ever made.
Gruhn said Guild never had a down time, like other manufacturers have.

     Anyway, chime in please.

Up until Fender closed the Westerly factory Guild's were the only acoustic that I played, didn't get my first Larrivee until 2002.The 50's were mostly archtops the 60's brought in the flattops and they were the best.Bought my first Guild in 1974.Been playing there jumbos since 89 both 6 and 12 strings.Best sounding 12 strings made.

Guild made two different Maple Jumbos:

The F-412 and the JF-30.   The two are basically the same other than the JF-30 is "plane Jane" and the F-412 was fairly heavilly inlaid.

Personally, I always preferred the F-512 which was Rosewood.

Guild 12's (up untill the move to Corona) always used 2-truss rods side by side.  I could take my Guild from Phoenix to San Diego and not need to adjust the neck.

I've read in "Gruhns Guide to Vintage Guitars"

Gruhn actually was one of the owner/officers of Guild for awhile.

I know I want a pre Fender model, made in Westerly. and I want it in maple.
They made a flat top with a braced back and the arched laminate back. Which is on the JF-30 12 and the JF-65 12.

I'm considering one of the latter two.

That's what I'm leaning toward. The price doubles for the JF-65-12. And from all I have researched, it's bling alone that us the difference.
     Very nice bling however.

Those early fifties models are collectable. I'm sure the 60's maple 12rs are as well.

   It's a real players 12 string.

Back in the early 70s a friend had a superb Guild. I had a Gibson dread, which was a boomer. But his was exceptional.

I had a friend in seminary that had a Guild jumbo 12-string...but I'm pretty sure hers was rosewood. Beautiful guitar, either way.

Yup, rosewood and mahogany. And different models of maple 12 strings. But the JF-30-12
Made in Westerly, pre Fender is the one I'm leaning toward. A JF-65-12 would be cool. But I can't justify the price.

Go for the JF30-12.If I ever have money again I'd love to get a sunburst JF30-12 and maybe a matching JF30-6 in sunburst for fun.I thought about calling Guild to see if they'd ever make a reissue of the JF30 guitars like they use too the GAD30 jumbo is a nice guitar but it has a flat back making the best sounding Gibson J200 ever.

I'm going to check out a JF-30-12 in the morning.
I'll have the cash with me, so barring some unrevealed damage, I may come back home with it.

I went to look at one here local. The neck needs a reset, 4 mm at the 12th fret.
Plus it had a neck reset in the past that was a butcher job.

He came down on the price, but with six repair jobs waiting to be done, I didn't want another one right now.

Thanks Andrew. The seller not revealing the obvious poor condition has thrown cold water on me.

Now I don't think I could trust a seller online. It's a buyer beware world we live in now.

Its always buyer beware.Start looking for a Tacoma made one as I've heard good things about them.If that doesn't work a Larrivee OM03/12 is a great guitar.

Tacoma is when Fender started using a single truss rod (and CF reinforcement) instead of the traditional double truss rods.

This made the necks thinner,  whether that is good or bad is of course up to the end-user.
