Just came back from guitar center Hollywood ca.
Played some old Martins, some of which they were asking a small
Fortune for
I font get it,most sounded and felt crappy
Why would anyone want to buy such guitars?

I guess they believe that's as good as it gets.

Pain is a good thing

I have played more than a few of the highly coveted pre-war Martins.  As you found out, some can be difficult to play and often, they don't sound that exceptional.
I did play a nice sounding 1939 000-21 that sounded pretty good, but the asking price was an absurd $25,000.  The collector market has gotten out of hand, and I wouldn't
be surprised to see a correction.  I am more than happy with my awesome sounding/playing Larrivees.  I would put my D10 Brazilian up among the best sounding
guitars I have ever played.
