What a gorgeous instrument, and in great condition. My L-26 built in 1978 has many dings and worn finish areas from years of gigging.

With a heart, must be a story there. The Rosewood looks interesting. Special EIR or Brazilian?

That's a great one, as has been said. The top has such nice silking and the amber color it has evolved to is just so elegant and classical looking. The rosewood binding and classic rosette finish it off beautifully. I would love to hear it.

That is just beautiful. Really elegant in its simplicity. See the shadow on the upper bout? Is that uneven staining or just the lighting? If a guitar can look heavy, this one does. No rationale behind that, it just...looks heavy. Pretty. And no microdots.

Hi everyone, just wanted to share this gem with the folks who can appreciate it the most.
Consider it appreciated - very much! So... are you the original owner, or is this a recent purchase? I'm still lovin' my recently acquired (and lefty-ized) '79 L-19! If a guitar can look heavy, this one does. No rationale behind that, it just...looks heavy.
Mine does feel heavy - rosewood guitars sometimes do. And it has that older, larger box Larrivee body - but I think it all contributes to the incredible, rich tone these have!

That is the nitro finish doing it's melting thing. Take a look at the photo with "Jean" and heart etched. You can see this happening here then making it's way to the top. It usually happens on the lower bout from forearm contact. Perhaps the original owner used the upper bout to rest his/her right arm when not playing?

So informative to get this kind of insight. Thanks.

Someone will likely pay that price. I hope mine will all be worth that much when they get old...

But we get much older... and we won't be here anyway. I wonder if I'll be remembered as a guitar hoarder

I wonder if I'll be remembered as a guitar hoarder You are not a guitar hoarder. Why would you be remembered as one? If you feel guilty, I can babysit. You know that. Mike
