cop I am somewhat of an internets sleuth. I am starting to piece together evidence that Larrivee is working on a new guitar shape, a solo dread? Anyone else hear anything? What is a solo dread shape size?

Curious what evidence this is based on.

I'm not sure what would qualify a guitar as a solo dread (for solo playing, or for solo leads) but a lot of fingerstyle players have used the 12 fret dread as the lone guitar in a song.  Fuller sounding, easier to play fingerstyle, etc.

Photos I have seen of breakaway molds on Instagram, labelled as a solo dread. The photos indicated they were in the Larrivee factory.

If you post those pictures, or a link to those pictures, I suspect the rest of us will have something to comment about.

Breakaway mold. That is how it was described in its original post.

Appears to be a shallow depth?

My first thoughts on a Solo Dread was the Bourgeois Martin Simpson signature model.
It is a 12 fret dread with a cutaway.

Am I confusing Solo with Finger-style?  rolleye

Those are Washburn molds ... nothing to do with Larrivee.

 Hi Folks,

As Steve has informed you all, those are Washburn molds and have no connection to the Larrivée line.

Now, if you happen to see a few banjo castings...

I want the first B-03, but I want to know what kind of string tuners you will use.  bigrin
My Washburn B-16 is perfectly good, especially if the head is adjusted just right.
