So sorry to hear this, he was certainly a legend in his own right...
George

Tom Petty just kept on making good songs right thru the disco era.
He got my respect for that.
He will be missed.

Damn the torpedoes
"To me...music exists to elevate us as far as possible above everyday life." ~ Gabriel Faure

Saw him live about 3 years ago.  My 2 favorite songs are "Gotta Thing About You" and "The Waiting".  66 is too young to die regardless.
"Badges?  We don't need no stinkin' badges."

Became a Shooting Star when I got my 1st guitar.
Back in '66, I was 13 and that was my fix.
Still shooting for stardom after all this time.
If I never make it, I'll still be fine.

The song I hear in my head today is Southern Accent.

Danny .. I saw a food show on Austin last night.  "Big Bob".  Cheese, chili meat and guac.  It did look good.

I had a stuffed avacado green chili/beef and the extras yesterday.
Is the Big Bob in memory of Bob Collings?

Bob Armstrong .... Matt's El Rancho

I think it's obvious that I combined Bob Taylor and Bill Collings in my mixed up thoughts.

Matt's El Rancho has quite a reputation around here.

I certainly wonder what will now happen to the Heartbreakers, specifically Mike Campbell who has always been a hero of mine  :?

Somehow I suspect they have saved enough to get by. Or, at least I hope they saved some.

Campbell has done many side projects over the years... he'll be fine... but no doubt he'll miss Tom and the band's unique chemistry.
