This is a beautiful old hymn, and was a favorite of my Mom and Dad.  Always brings back memories.....
Played on my D10 Brazilian.

Yes.  It's in drop D tuning.  I just came up with the intro recently while noodling around, thought it fit the song nicely.  I don't really do tabs, I find them too complicated.
I just kind of make up stuff that I think sounds good.

Thanks for listening and commenting.

Really nice!  That hymn brings back a lot of memories.   I especially like the chording you use on the turnaround at the very end.

Need to hear the voices singing the song to give it context.  Regardless, great playing of the song.

Great playing. Plus what Paraclete said, love the chord changes at the end.
Your playing is a treasure to this group.

So....
I went outside after making my last post after listening to your playing, and we had a wonderful golden sunset coming through clouds of a thunderstorm breaking up to the west, and at the same time we are having a minor rainstorm overhead and I look to the east and we have a full rainbow.
Your music, a beautiful sunset and a rainbow..... it does not get much better than that.

Mike, I'm glad the song brought some sunshine to the rainy Northwest.  There is something about the old classic hymns that get to me.  I play in my church
band and like some of the contemporary worship music too, but sometimes the theology is a little lacking in the lyrics.
We need to pass the hymns on to the next generation or they will be lost.

Thanks for the comments guys.

(Just an observation, not a criticism).  I felt myself singing the words in my head as I listened to your playing, which I really enjoyed.  Felt I should clarify my previous comment.
