I'd get an OM-10 to match my C-10.

Hmmm...  $5k?

Maybe a parlor size (and scale length) 12 string.  Sitka over mahogany, satin finish....  with a cutaway.

Hmmm. Since I already own a $5k+ Larrivee, what to choose, what to choose?

A one of kind, matching 50th Anniversary LV-10, 12 string?

Maybe a OM or OOO with exotic tone wood, Alpine Spruce top, a shamrock or vine fret board inlay and maybe Emily or similar head stock inlay. Bridge wing inlay for sure.  Abalone Purfling with fret board extension.

I was never a bling lover until I owned a guitar with it.

I look at the much more expensive yet plain looking by comparison, Martins, etc. and ask, why? A $1k-$2k guitar can be rather spartan in the bling department, yet, any Larrivee has more "bling" than guitars costing many time more save for the Eastman and other "Asian built" guitars. When I say "bling" I am talking about all the things we as Larrivee owners take for granted. Like All solid wood, solid wood bindings, flawless fit and finish, etc. When a guitar gets to the $2k point, I am now expecting at least an Abalone rosette as well (05 series).

I tried to make a Martin Custom Shop guitar look as good as the Larrivee LV-10 50th Anniversary. First of all, that is impossible.    However, when one places all of the inlays available to the Martin that represent the amount of inlay work on the LV-10, you are now staring at a price of $15k or more.

A matching 12 string 50th sounds nice.  whistling

I believe those were called California specials.
I. Would drop the cash in my grandsons 529 college fund.

Seriously, that much dough on a larrivee would mean bling and inlays?

If I had to buy a guitar, it would be a Custom 12 fret slope shoulder dried in walnut, gloss, waverlys, with 1-11/16 nut. Then I'd buy my wife and me an ice cream cone.

I've been avoiding this thread, but can't help myself; finally gotta get in...

I'd get two (both lefty, which makes it tougher) - a used L-05 - hog top if I could find one, the older the better (love to find one with the traditional rosette). Number 2 would be another L-05, but a 12 string, also with a hog top. That one would have to be custom ordered, I think...

I'd try and get two also.  An OM-40R, and an OM-50.  I've come to love the OM size with 14-fret neck as my favorite guitar model.  I would get the OM-40R to see what the "legacy series" bracing is all about; with the extra added bonus of having an OM in Rosewood.  The OM-50, I assume,  would be the ultimate version of my OM-03 which is a fantastic guitar.

Buying bling is not my thing.  I based my response on how much guitar I could get for the money, but only in terms of playing and sound satisfaction, not aesthetics.

I think I'd order a classical.  I love my Ramirez, but I'd bet those Larrivée classicals are pretty sweet.
