I wanted to throw something out there for opinions. I'm in the process of purchasing a new Larrivee LV-10E which comes standard with the Imix pickup. I'm thinking of opting for the Stage Pro Anthem in lieu of the Imix, as I like the versatility, i.e. more tone control, plus built-in tuner. What do you think? I realize the Anthem has to be cut into the guitar.

My preference is for anything that does not involved cutting a hole in the side of the guitar.

Especially on a 10 series.

ANY series. There's just no excuse for those hideous side boxes on guitars anymore.   :whistling:

Yes, my bad. ANY series. I would never do that to my L-03 or my LV-10.

I custom ordered a J-60 SilverOak that was supposed to come with a soundhole mounted Anthem, but when it arrived it had the side-mounted Anthem instead.  I reluctantly gave it a try and discovered that it has much more adjustability and decided to keep it anyway.  I prefer not to cut a hole in the side of ANY guitar, but in this case I never notice it and it sounds so much better that I just don't care...

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to order it with the Imix as I agree that a 10 series should not be cut.

The (no-cut) I-mix is an awesome system - had one in an SD-50 years ago....
