Just curious - cuz when you get back before the early-mid 80's, I don't recall seeing a mahogany Larrivee. But maybe they exist?

Kevin, Tom, other longtime Larrivee owners - can you answer this one?

Or, John Jr. or Matthew could check in - they'd know the answer!  bigrin

Although my second Larrivee was a D-05 in 2001, I can only guess. Sometime in the 90's.

Good question, not one I could answer tho quite likely there were some hogs from the 70's as well, as wasn't there even an ebony from that era ?

I believe so... the story I've heard (but don't know if it's true) is that Bruce Cockburn's second cutaway Larrivee was made of ebony, since he didn't want to use precious Brazilian Rosewood, which I believe was on his original one (long before it was on an endangered species list). But I don't know if that's true or not.

I know they were using hog by 1990 or so, because I was first exposed to Larrivee around then, and I know they had mahogany models in the shop I frequented then.

Bumping this back up because I'm still curious to know, and we never heard anything "official" from John Jr. or Matthew...

Next question - who has a very early mahogany Larrivee - say late 88 - sometime in 89?

The first hog Larrivees were no doubt L bodies - I know a friend of mine, who was a Larrivee dealer at Acoustic Music Plus in Omaha, NE (first Larrivee dealer in Nebraska) has one of the first [like among the first 5 or so made] mahogany OM's - and he probably got it in around '90/'91 (sometime right after his shop opened).
