does anyone know if these guitars can handle medium strings? what strings are best for this guitar? These are phos/bronze and i wonder if anyone here likes these strings? I prefer medium gauge over lights thats for sure.

It will certainly "handle" mediums.

I have been going back and forth on lights vs. mediums. I have settled in on lights on my L-03 recently. I find the tone is still spectacular and they do provide a slightly "easier" to play aspect.

It will handle mediums.  What will sound best on it depends on you and what you're playing, and for me, it depends on the guitar.  If you are a heavy player or playing with a bluegrass or loud rock band, you will most likely want mediums.

When I get a new guitar, I get several sets of strings...  multiple weights and materials.  I get them from Webstrings.com.  They sell them relatively cheap, about $3-$3.50 a set.  They sound good, but (for me) don't last long.  I try each set for a few days to see what's going to work best (for me) on a given guitar.  Then, I switch to John Pearse strings in the weight and material I like best.

Looks like a great guitar.

It will handle mediums. While I usually lean towards thicker strings, on my D-40 I find lights to do fine. Plenty loud and plenty of tone using lights so why work my old fingers more than needed.
