Got the Gold Schaller "Grand Tunes" installed on D-40. They look great and tuning problems gone. These tuners are great. Very smooth tuning action and they hold tune! For whatever reason, the tuners that came with it didn't stay in tune. I'll add a couple other pics as well. Per last post on this I custom ordered to get 1 3/4" width. While at it got the Alpine Spruce top. 2 thumbs up on that. Responsive from light finger picking to banging on it. Gets a cool woody sound when you slap on it. Looked thru old inlays they had and found Maple Leaves from an old special addition model. I asked about it and they said they could do. I like the wood inlay. Cool but not too flashy. Plus pretty cheap! They let me send them Gold Evo fret wire, which is almost as hard and long lasting as stainless steel and they put them in for me. Guitar to me pretty much as billed. It's loud, has more bass than Larrivee's D models of past but still pretty balanced and not boomy. Perfect Dread for me.

Siblings........  Left to right. New DV-40, 1980 L-10, 2007 000-60, 1999 Pete Anderson (OM) Quite the range of serial numbers. From 1614 to 129729.  Larrivee has certainly grown since 1980'! Larrivees in the US especially were pretty much unheard when I got first one.

I am glad the Schaller Grand Tunes worked out for you and corrected the problem.  Love the maple leaf headstock inlay.

That is indeed a nice variety of guitars - you've covered the tone bases well.

Sure would love to hear that 1980 L!

They are GREAT tuners. Thanks for pointing them out. It did require a little wok to get them in and I let the guy at shop do it. Screw holes were off just a little and plus the gold Schaller screws were shorter. So refilled the old holes with wood and glue and redid. But not bad and I love them!

Thanks. Yes they are all definitely different animals. No sense in having guitars that sound too similar. I'm very pleased with the variety. The Old L is very versatile and I've always used it to gig with as I've also mixed it up at gigs. A well built work horse it has been. The others have more specific tones but very, very nice in a narrower way.

I am not normally a fan of gold tuners.  However, I must admit that those look really nice with all the wood inlay on the headstock.

I hear ya. Same here but they turned out looking as good or better than I thought they wood. They also match the frets which don't show up as well but are gold Evos. I got frets because they are harder, last, not because of color but they look good and it all looks good together. Thanks.
