I have an Ovation Elite in my shop with a bad volumn control so I gave them a call and they are now sending me something to solve the problem at no charge. What that something is I don't know but just the offer to take care of a guitar that they didn't build at no charge. That raise's my respect 10 fold as not all companies will do this {Larrivee is one that will}.So KUDO"S to them for stepping up.

Good deal. I kind of like those Ovations, but the neck shape doesn't like my hand

unclrob, lots of reports like this over on the Ovation Forum about "the mothership" (as they refer to Ovation hq in Connecticut) being very customer friendly.

They were recently purchased from Fender by DW Drums, they're just ramping back up their US production... the guitars are pricey, but beautiful. We'll see if Ovation can still compete in this day and age of much better electronics in woodbox guitars...

I've played a few very expensive Ovations, the ones with the multiple soundholes, that were very nice sounding and playing guitars but I'd never own one. They keep trying to escape.

I currently have a 1983 Custom Balladeer and a 1993 Standard Balladeer.  My opinion is usually different than most and really like them.  They are both very nice guitars, sound good acoustically, and excel plugged in.  An Ovation I really regret selling was an Electric Deacon that was sold to David Cabrera.  (He was Ricky Martin Band's lead guitarist and  musical director at the time.)  I get they are not liked by many.  Mine have held up and served me well over the years.

Glad they treated you well rob.  They've been through a lot of changes.

By all accounts the ovation mothership customer service has been fantastic.

I have a 1967 josh white ovation from their second year of production. Its a 12th fret shothead and an absolute monster.  The volume and projection is amazing.

That's quite a guitar you own! Those original bowls evidently had great projection, and with a 50 year old top, that's quite a combination! Rare, too.
