Been working on deadening the sound in my office - strange room that possibly used to be a vault in an old bank (10 by 20 with 10 foot ceilings and poured concrete walls - your basic sonic nightmare) I used the moving blanket trick on one end, but along the side walls I got the idea to do a "memorial" to my inspirations that have passed. Today I put up "Hopelessy Harry" (Chapin) and "Poor, Happy Jimmy" (Croce). I've got a cool Doc Watson coming too. Surrounding them with studio foam has made a huge difference in the room, and it looks cool too. These are 18 by 24's.

Looks great.Love the pix.If your stil having trouble with sound you might want to put bass soaks in the corners.I assume the floor has carpet on it.Get some heavy duty drapes to tuck and roll on the ceiling.

I swear Todd we have very similar tastes in music.  Jim Croce is one of my all time favorites.  Alabama Rain is about the only one I can really play, his style is extremely difficult for me...  P. S.  Your studio upgrades look good.  I also use sound deadening blankets hanging on rods next to walls.  They are easily adjusted...

There is quite a bit of furniture in here too - and yes - carpeted thank goodness!  It's WAY better than it was after the 3 72 by 80 moving blankets got put up - and now this!

Harry and Jimmy were two of the biggest reasons I picked up the guitar in the first place!

That could be a really cool tracking room. Don't dead and it completely.

Next time I'm up your way,  I'll do my best to come by and check it out.
I understand you have a nice guitar or three, so we can bounce some sound around those walls.

It's used to "bouncing sound" for sure.....welcome anytime I'm around.  With the situation with my parents these days, that's unfortunately becoming less and less.....

Nice pic of Doc. I got to return his grammies to him at his house. I hauled them there in a cardboard box in the trunk of my car. Knocked on the side door to his house. A moment later, the legend himself invites me in. There I am standing in Doc's kitchen with Doc, his grammies and his guitar in its case on the floor. The nicest guy you'd ever meet.

That's really cool!!!   I got to sit at his feet and watch him play a few times and always felt like I was in the presence of an other-worldly individual!
