Rob, I'm sanding down the new nut I made over the holiday
and had the strings off last night
so I got this pic of the upper frets.

I can just feel the divots with my fingernail
and don't notice them playing.

(and I might have taken too much off the nut, dang it!, haha)

Great pix.You can see both the beginning of a divet and if you look at the next fret you can see the flattening of the crown.

So what's your diagnosis?
Time to take it in or wait a while?
I think I said before, I consider this "normal wear"
but I'm no expert for sure.

It is normal wear and if you have a tech with a lite touch I would go ahead and have a dressing done as in the long run you'll get more life out of the frets.
