Hey Friends,

am i right and next year, 2017, is the Larrivee 50th Anniversary ?

What`s going to happen then :-) ?

Should we save our money for some really special and limited Guitars that will come out maybe?

The Question is: Has anybody of you heared some rumors, etc.......................?

Looking forward to your answers.

There's been some discussion. Larrivee posted a pic on facebook of the Euro spruce logs they'll be using. I've heard that they may do a high end model and a budget one as well.
I'm pretty much only interested in buying 12 fret dreads anymore so the chances they'll make something I want are slim but I'm still a Larrivee fan and I'm excited to see what the 50th will be.

Those logs are not for the fiftieth.

Hi Bronzestar

Here's what I know.....
Yes 2017 will mark the 50th anniversary of Larrivee Guitars and there will be a 50th anniversary edition,.  So. yes, start saving.

Here's what I suspect....
It will be some version of an L body, perhaps with some non-standard exotic woods.  And, I imagine  it might be a limited run.  50 sounds like a fitting number.

Here's what I hope..
I hope the price doesn't prevent me from getting one, whatever it is.

I have no special  knowledge about any of this, just my guess based on what little I've heard "around the watercooler" you might say.

I've kicked myself many times for not purchasing the NOS 2007 40th Anniversary model I saw at Melodee Music several years ago so my New Years resolution is that I'll be prepared to grab a 50th Anniversary Larrivee when they become available. Hope it's a good one....

I think I remember telling you to get that JCL 40th....I guess you didn't take my advice. LOL    They rarely if ever come up for re-sale.
I am still loving mine, play it every day.  I picked up a used Goodall Rosewood Standard a few years ago for a great price, and the JCL sounds almost the same.
In fact, I think the JCL sounds better for finger style, while I'll give the edge to the Goodall for strumming and volume.

I am looking forward to what the 50th Anniversary will be.  Probably won't buy one because I just don't need another guitar.  Although I do have my eye on a used C10.
Have always fancied one of those....

I still like the 35th best.

Were there only 40 of the 40th Anniversary model? Were there only 35 of the 35th?

I'm hoping there will be more than 50 of the 50th Anniversary... I am very interested (if the street price doesn't climb too high...).

I can only speak for the 40th Anniversary model, which I have.  They made 80 of those, so I guess 2 for each year of business.  So I would bet they will
make 100 of the 50th.

I think for the 30th (i believe the 35th referenced above was a typo as there was no 35th AFAK) was authorized up to 100 but actually made less than 30 possibly even less than 20

I'm very fortunate to currently have #14

I think Walkerman is referring to the custom build he had done for his 35th anniversary.

Edit: actually I think that was his 32nd anniversary...now I'm confused.

Andrew is right, I meant 30th.  And he does have an outstanding one.

What was the list price (MSRP) and MAP for the 40th? Were these made with rosewood, or were these silver oak? (Was there a 45th made with silver oak ... I'm so confused...)
