Part of what got me on this track was discovering a plastic container full of wood treatments, oils, polishes, finish etc.
I have not even unpacked all my containers yet.
          But I'll get with it

As requested - here's a 7am first take with the Blackwood.  This is with capo at 2, so you can image the power this one has when it's not!
Hadn't played this one in a good, long while....

It sounds pretty good, and the song you chose is real nice. (you just need to work on your southern accent a little )

Yes - 54 years in Michigan doesn't do much for vocal inflection......

Awesome sounding guitar and vocal Todd!  Impressive capoed...  How did the saddle intonation go?

Thanks for listening - the intonation was pretty easy and it's 95% of the way there - next string change I'll dial it and drop the action just a smidge more.
I also have a set of ebony and abalone bridge pins to replace those nasty plastic ones!  I'll give the top another couple polish treatments too - back and sides are great already.

You want some extra holes, err ports, in your Larrivee?

Looks great!

Question about my 2016 OM-40 Satin guitar.
It's only a few months old.

Should I wait a certain amount of time (months) before I polish it out?
Thought I read somewhere here that the newer finish needs to fully cure?

Would love to get the guitar's finish smoother!

I would ask the folks at Larrivee to be sure - I'm far from a finish expert!  This one was over 10 years old I believe

Fitness, I saved the picture from an eBay auction.

Jake, when I polished mine, I did it soon after I got them. Didn't seem to make much difference. Like Fitness, I didn't go for a high gloss finish, just enough so smooth things over so that there wasn't the surface noise from playing it. I really liked the way they turned out. I have done three but these were the first two. The LV-03 is Blackwood, like Fitness's. The OM is Koa, Blackwood's cousin.

I have posted this picture before. My apologies to any that are tired of seeing it.

This is how my mahogany 12 string turned out:

One of the biggest things that you notice in buffing out the matte finish is the depth of the wood. It gives an almost 3D effect.

I did all of these back in the 2005-2006 era when all of us were following the lead of Orsino and polishing our -03s. I used the Meguiar's 3 step process that everyone said didn't contain silicones until we realized that they did. I would be afraid of using the sandpaper or steel wool that many have used since and would probably use Virtuoso polish iof I was going to do one today.

Thanks..

Wow they look great !
I have a bottle of Virtuoso on hand already.

My main reason is the "scratchy noise" factor.
Drives me nuts! When recording with headphones.

I did send an email to Larrivee support...
They replied and pointed me straight back to the forum!

Anyone want to advise me...
On a newer Larrivee OM-40 guitar, how long would you suggest I wait, before performing a de-satin-ization (polish method).
In regards to the original finish curing all the way, Or does it not matter time wise?

I don't think it matters. I did the top two (the blackwood and koa) almost as soon as I got them. If you want to date that, I did the blackwood while watching the report on Hurricane Katrina. The mahogany was already a year or two old when I got in in 2006 and I did it shortly after I got it. Didn't seem to make much difference one way or another.

So what is the "best" method to go about this?

Simply use some 0000 Steel wool or go the Polish and "Elbow grease" method?
Also what product to use if going polish?

I am recording with the OM40 and the noise when my hand or arm touches the finish is driving me nuts.
