Hi. I prefer D'Addario EXPs to Elixirs as well but I'm an oddity and can generally make do with pretty much any new guitar strings. My Larrivees tend to make any string sound good.

Here is a little recording without using any microphone. Althought I always told everybody (as do most guitar players), that recording an acoustic guitar with a pickup is crap and must sound awful.
Of course this does not sound as nice a microphoned guitar, but it is close.

This is recorded with my Larrivee, LR Baggs Anthem -  Ditto Looper - Schertler Unico - the guitar input of my Boss BR 1600.

The song played is improvised: three chords and melody. No blues at all.

What do you mean no blues at all?  Sounded pretty bluesy to me!  Soulful playing at the very least, you can tell it came from your heart...  You do all the parts?

Bravo!

I mean, no blues in the way I play my classical blues. These are just three chords (a minor, e minor and d minor), no blues progression, no I - IV - V.

What you hear is one track containing the rhythm and the solo - part (with the Ditto), and the other just some rhythmic parts.

Of course all played by myself.

Every once in a while I love to play these non - blues - instrumentals, also electrified...

Greetings back to you Germany.  I think by now you are considered part of Larrivee Land?  Great song by the way, I love to listen to you guys play...  Your style is refreshing.

Good job.  Very clear playing and nice recording.

I really enjoyed your channel. The picking, the arrangements, and the recording quality are exceptional. I hope to hear more.

Thank you very much.

By the way: I tried out Martin Monels as suggested. Hm..... .

I was not so impressed. They sound okay for old time blues and ragtime, but they seem to "compress" every note you play. Very hard if not impossible to add any dynamics.

Got rid of them after a week and put on my "good old" EXPs.

What coukd be better than improvising a little blues with my OM 50. No masterpiece but a good possibility to tell you all that I am still impressed by this wonderful guitar!
