On this page the Gem is still listed (with prices for Canada and US), while on the right side of the page, a more powerful Heatseeker and Skyraider are listed as discontinued...Hmmm...
http://www.mackamps.com/products-Mack-Amps
However, when you click on the Gem you get "page not found".

I've e-mailed Don at Mack Amps to find out whether the Gem is still available, and if the price on the website ($408.59 USD) is correct. I'll let you know if I hear anything back.

I'd phone him. I talked to him several times when I ordered mine and he was very helpful. Nice guy. He might be able to throw one together for you. When I discovered that he was only offering head and cab models and I hesitated, he offered to put together a combo amp for me. When I decided to buy both the Gem and Heatseeker, the head and cab combination made more sense. You never know what kind of parts are hanging around the shop, however.

Tried to call and got his answering machine, so I e-mailed. He got back to me (via e-mail) within an hour - they're no longer making the Gem.

C'est domage. I'm glad I got one when I did. I'd still phone him and talk to him about it if interested. Who knows? He might be able to point you at someone who has an extra one.

I thought I remembered correctly that you had Macks, Andrew. Looks a lot like my house.
Still happy with them?

Very much so. Top shelf IMO, for far from top shelf pricing. Something like our guitars

I use a Fender Blues Jr. 15W when I play small gigs. Its a mid 1990's model. I love tube amps and this one isn't too heavy. It's 25 lbs. I play a PRS S2 Mira at my gigs.
I recently bought a Yamaha THR5a Acoustic Amp. A lunchbox amp and weighs 4.5 lbs. Has microphone modeling feature that's very unique. I use it at home and in Church with my Larrivee D-09.
The acoustic modeling is reviewed in this video. I like how the amp blends the electronic signal from the pickup and the modeled mic sound. Gives a unique sound.

That probably deserves its own thread in the main forum...

play every amp you're interested in, and then some.
buy the one that class to YOU.
advice from others on matters like these (strings, pick=ups as well) is a waste of time.
try them all, close your eyes, and listen,
then listen to your gut.
buy that one.
simple.

Like over 50?
Too many guitars to list here.
Too few brain cells to be bothered with...
