Does anybody know how the serial numbers work on Larrivee 80s electric guitars? For example, what would #0808 be? Are the serials systematic in any way?

Cheers

My understanding is they are simply chronological. I think during this period ( early mid 80's)  Larrivee lost some of their Database Records but there are some people that have a partial list. It used to be on-line at a website but that site has since come down. Some managed to copy it before it came down. For whatever reason there is a reluctance to post it here as I've asked before.
I sure wish one of them would post it here and I would sticky it.

Anybody reading this sitting on a serial list? A PM or post reply would be very appreciated

when I got my first 80's Larrivee electric (RS4) "cyberman" was of good help dating it and telling me more about i.
I don't know if he comes around this place much anymore......
"Senior" member means "old" right?
Like over 50?

Too many guitars to list here.
Too few brain cells to be bothered with...

Why don't you email Larrivee and ask them?
"Badges?  We don't need no stinkin' badges."

Became a Shooting Star when I got my 1st guitar.
Back in '66, I was 13 and that was my fix.
Still shooting for stardom after all this time.
If I never make it, I'll still be fine.

I emailed them and got a very swift reply:

"There is nothing to read from the serial number. They are all just sequential"

They have a search function on the website, and it worked perfectly http://www.larrivee.com/manufacture-date-lookup

I have a few of those old eighties guitars, they're fun to play, and an interesting part of the Larrivee story.
I've given up wondering when they were entered into some book as to when there were assembled.
matters not, they are what they are, the pedigree is obvious, who cares about the day/month etc?

play them till your fingers bleed,
then play some more.....
