IMix, ibeam questions

I've been doing a lot of reading about the iMix system, and more specifically, the ibeam pickup, as I am still trying to get a handle on the pickup system in my LSV-11.  Seems that there is a huge amount of hate on AGF for the Ibeam.

So here's what's going on.  I've played my Larrivee through the main system at church twice now, but it was only today that I took a close look at the settings on the iMix and realized it was set to stereo.  Because I use a mono instrument cable, that means I've only been hearing the Element pickup....which sounds amazing as it is (or maybe it is just the guitar).  I switched to mono this evening and ran the sound through my electric guitar amp (which, I know, is a poor way to test an acoustic pickup) and that ibeam is really a sweet sounding pickup.  Add in a little of the Element for punch, and it is everything I have ever wanted in an acoustic pickup.

For those of you with ibeam pickups or iMix systems, do you ever have feedback problems on auditorium PA systems?  I don't have a problem sticking with just the Element pickup if feedback on a loud stage is a problem.  But I'm kind of curious as to whether this is really a huge problem or more a matter of installation issues.  The iMix on my Larrivee was factory installed.

I've never had any feedback issue with my guitars with the IBeam in them.The IBeam and the Anthem SL are my favorite pickups.

I use the I-beam in my guitars, no feedback problems.  But I don't run it through anything but my amp. What's not to like about it?

More and more I get the feeling that some people on AGF just love to complain.  But also, doing more reading, seems like they had installation issues.  I'll probably play at least some guitar on Sunday, so hopefully it will all be fine.  I really do love the sound coming through my amp.

Its an easy install much easier the K+K which needs to be stupid glued in place.And yes the people over at AGF are nothing more then bitchy little girls.

IME the iBeam is pretty sensitive to placement, an eighth of an inch can make a big difference in the sound.  The K&K otoh goes on very easily and is very forgiving of placement.  I've put in dozens.  The only one I had a problem with was because I didn't take my time.

No complaints here for the Imix.  I have it in my JCL 40th Anniversary Edition, put in at the Larrivee shop in Oxnard when I picked it up.  I play a lot of weddings, and regularly in a worship band
at a large church.  The sound guys always say they love the way my guitar sounds and never have to mess with it.  I do run it through a Baggs Para DI to the house PA.

Alright... Played it today through the sound system with the ibeam dialed in this time.  Sounds even better than before!  Zero feedback on a stage with a bass amp right behind me, drums, floor wedge monitors.... Running it through a Radial passive DI.  I think I want to play acoustic every week from now on!  (Not going to happen though,  since I also fill in for all the other missing pieces   ). Thanks for the feedback!

I'm kind of the fill-in guy as well.  This week, it was Hammond organ and piano.  Our church recently had a Hammond M3 donated to it, and we got it to a state of usefulness by my installing an OPL-2 unit to bypass the speaker with a load resistor and provide 1/4 line out and into a GSi Burn Leslie simulator pedal. I have a K+K installed in my L-03.  I have to say, that the Taylor 414ce I recently won has their Expression 2 system installed, and it's just a great plug-n-play pickup system.  I wish I could have a similar system installed in my Larry.
