I am thinking of trying these strings on my OM-40r. I am now using the lights and I really like them. Great tone. I am looking for a little more volume and I am thinking these strings might give me the tone I like with a little more volume.

First question: would these strings be too heavy for the OM-40?
Second question: Has anyone tried these strings on their guitar?

Not too heavy, just right. Really, you're going to here a big difference.  Just remember you'll likely have to adjust the truss rod a little because of the increased tension, maybe also a little nut adjusting but I would wait and see how that goes.

Roger is right on target. The heavier strings will provide a more robust tone and won't hurt the guitar at all.  I use Martin Mediun/light strings on my OM40 and it sounds HUGE with those strings.  I use phosphor bronze SP's.
