Finally got to record this song and post it on youtube. Recorded on a Motorola smartphone in HD. The Alvarez system 600T MK2 equalizer is set at a slight treble cut and bass boost. Strings are Elixir nanos . Amp is a Fender Mustang3 version 1. Check out my other youtube videos for Larrivee recordings ! This is one of my favourite songs and learning it has been a great way for me to learn fingerstyle playing. Capo on fret 2. Enjoy.

Very nice!

I had only been playing guitar for about 4 or 5 years when the song first came out and I had no idea it was in a non-standard tuning or that there even was such a thing. I beat my head against the wall for years trying to figure it out in standard tuning. I kinda did finally. I've never been able to wrap my head around any other tuning other than standard.

Good on you for tackling it!

Sounnds great.Been playing it since the late 70's.The original recording was in open E tuning but like you I prefer drop D.I have the Brothers box set and the version on it has both Bett's and Oakley playing it.I plan on recording it when I learn Oakleys bass part.

Eat a Peach. Oh man. What a song!  Like Uncle Rob says ,  the original was in open E, but capo'ed up two. I think Dicky Betts was was there too, which makes   It a -CENSORED- to add the bass notes. Great job.

What I meant to say was it seems the original was in open E, which is scary (at least for me) to tune--so tuned down to open D and capo up two frets.

Cheers Jeff. Its hard to see but I do have a capo on the second fret. Added a few bass notes to make it my version. Hope Duane and Dickey don't mind.
