Found this at guitar shop in the Texas Hill country. I've been looking for a good version of one of these for years. It plays easy and sounds great. I'm happy with it. Ladder bracing on the top is a weakness that will need to be dealt with. More pics later.
The top and the back are one piece and I do believe this is South American mahogany.

Nice. Can't quite read what's on the headstock, though. Harrison?

It's one of the last USA made Harmonys. I have two others, but this one is way better. Not even any fret wear.

I've seen a few,  but they were in pretty poor shape. This model got the body binding as well. I'll replace the bridge eventually and may even change the top bracing to scalloped X.
Meanwhile it is playable and I got it for peanuts. It had the original case and warranty card.
I think it just sat in a closet or under a bed.

Thanks, I'm planning on making it a keeper. Right size and woods, plus the neck is much smaller than the big and fat older Harmony necks.

Nice find Danny!   nice guitar

You know, I've never had a problem with those big fat necks.  V shaped necks too, love them.

I still have that old Kay in basement.  I should really send it to you.  Maybe you could breathe some life into it!

Doh! I guess I should have figured that out.  blush

Wow - that's a nice one.
I've got an old Silvertone/Harmony archtop,
same vintage, but nowhere near as nice
that I got for about nothing at a junk store.
That's a real find you've got there.
