The body is being closed today and binding work starts tomorrow - I've offiicially opted for the abalone top purfling.....if this turns out as nice as I think it will, I'd probably be disappointed if I didn't go the extra mile :bgrin:

Probably go out and get some pics in the next couple of days....

Looking forward to the pics, Tood.   You've got us all "hook, line, and sinkered"

"if there are no pics, it didn't happen" :roll

By the end of the week for sure.  Frankly the way the weather is right now here, I don't really want to drive out there!!
Besides,  you take some really good pictures  :thumb

Ok - here we go - Bill and Beth just sent along some pics.....I think my heart rate just went up a good bit! :thumbsup

Thanks, it looks really nice. Did you choose a bolt on neck or is that the builders way?

Thats Bill's design on all of his instruments.

That's coming together nicely!

How wide at the nut?

Mahogany back and sides? Koa?

Also, I'll go back and enlarge the pics, but it almost looks as though the kerning around the top and bottom is solid rather than "notched" like most standard acoustic kerning...?

Keep us posted!

Looks like the build is going great Todd!  Beautiful handiwork.  Very interested in how that submerged mahogany turns out tonally...

Steve Kinnaird built two F1 models with it a short while ago and was very, very happy with the tonal characteristics - and also noted the wood had "chatoyance" beyond what you see in most modern tonewoods.

I think when the finish hits it, it's going to be pretty striking visually too!
