The body is being closed today and binding work starts tomorrow - I've offiicially opted for the abalone top purfling.....if this turns out as nice as I think it will, I'd probably be disappointed if I didn't go the extra mile

Probably go out and get some pics in the next couple of days....

Mahogany back and sides? Koa?

Also, I'll go back and enlarge the pics, but it almost looks as though the kerning around the top and bottom is solid rather than "notched" like most standard acoustic kerning...?

Bill definitely uses solid kerf on all his guitars.....

Here are the specs:

Belizean Sinker Mahogany back and sides
Bearclaw Sitka Spruce top
Cocobolo bindings and rosette
Abalone rosette and top purfling
1 13/16 nut
2 5/16 saddle spacing
4-4.5" depth
Standard scale
Bound soundport
Blank fretboard
Ebony headstock overlay
5 piece laminated neck (Mahogany/maple/rosewood/maple/Mahogany)

Steve Kinnaird built two F1 models with it a short while ago and was very, very happy with the tonal characteristics - and also noted the wood had "chatoyance" beyond what you see in most modern tonewoods.

I think when the finish hits it, it's going to be pretty striking visually too!
