Does anyone have a koa (unbound, satin finish) parlor? What do you think? I've been offered a secondhand one in great shape for what seems to be a good price. I really shouldn't even consider it, especially this soon after buying the OM, but I'm really tempted. It is too far away to play, but I trust the sellers implicitly.

I purchased a New Rosewood Parlor about 3 weeks ago and the Dealer also had a new and used Koa basic for sale, I played them both, in fact I played every parlor he had... 2 rosewoods, 2 koas, 2 mahoganys...to my ears the rosewoods sounded the best, the koa's looked nice but didnt have the warmth....I dont know what your dealer is asking or if my dealer still has it but the used Koa was $450 at Guitars plus in wexford ,pa.Ive put about  oh 24 hours in 3 weeks on my parlor and she just gets better and better...for me the perfect living room guitar. Now i'm saving for  a om3r  Robb

Thanks Robb! That was what I needed to hear. I think I'd be happier with a rosewood parlor, even though I love the koa OM...Now to find a used one...

Hello,
I've had my rosewood parlor for a month and a half and its sounding great and is alot of fun to play. I've kept it in open G and it is great for fingerpicking. Yesterday I fired up my old Guitar Tracks software and the guitar recorded very well. The clear and non boomy sound came across very well.
