Any one else try fooling around with DADGAD tuning up a couple of steps on a Larrivee parlor to EBEABE.  I find it is tonally nicer on the Parlor but am kind of concerned about the extra neck tension?????  Any thoughts or experiences?

I worked with a blue's player many years ago who started with the guitar tuned down a half step then tune to an open E,which was called vestapol tuning.

Perhaps on a Parlour, the extra tension on the 5th, 4th, and 3rd would be negated by the 24" scale - assuming you're using lights . . .

That's kinda why I was experimenting with this tuning.  Given the parlors 24" scale and the low string tension, the low e is a bit of a challenge in normal tuning.  Taking it down to D in dadgad puts that string into a wonky land.  So I just tried dadgad up 2 semi tones and it seems to work great.  I do worry about to much tension though so I don't leave it at that tuning between playing sessions.
