To celebrate its 40th anniversary Taylor has redone it"s 800 series guitars. Everything has changed, the bracing, the finish, the glue, the strings, the thickness of the woods. I had the chance to strum a few chords on one. In the end this is something a new , a warm sounding Taylor. Very nice guitar, out of my price range but sweet indeed.

It's the focus of one of their recent editions of Wood & Steel (Vol. 78 / Winter 2014). Most Taylor dealers probably still have a few of these magazines lying around (that's where I got it).

I'm not a big fan of Taylor tone (BUT - I haven't heard one of the new 800's); I will say they build very classy looking and well playing guitars that LOTS of people want to own and play - gotta give Bob Taylor kudos for that.

I've pretty much liked everyone I've played but unfortunately ... they are ... chick guitars.

So Taylor Swift will play one, but James Taylor won't?   bigrin

Still shooting for stardom after all this time.
If I never make it, I'll still be fine.

I'm wondering why he leaves his pants up and won't let go of his guitar to poop. Kinda sad.
