1. Does anyone have some advice on how the metal endpin was installed and how best to remove it - so a pickup can be installed?

2. The ISS Parlours that I have seen have a rectangular piece of material on the top inside of the front bout. Does anyone know what that is - I thought it might be for the later installation of a pickup control box.

1) the endpin is screwed into a T-Nut.  Unscrew the enedpin (with the right size allen wrench) and push the T-Nut into the body of the guitar.  Retrieve it through the sound hole.  The hole is already the correct size for an endpin jack.

2) the black material is there just for what you think...  reinforcement of the area where a pickup control box would go.  It is part of the automated process and it goes on all guitars whether they get a pickup or not.

Very much appreciated. Thank you. The ISS has become my travel guitar, and curl up with guitar. The neck and sound are really nice. And I very much appreciate the simpler appearance.
