anybody else heard that all guitar production is moving to california?

No.  I find it hard to believe someone doing that.  Many companies find California unfriendly to businesses.

Depends upon your point of reference.  Compared to Texas...yes....compared to Canada...I'm not so sure.  There had to be a good business reason for JCL to move to Oxnard in the first place.

True.  I hadn't thought about business in Canada.

I assume you're only talking about Larrivées. It would be a business decision, I guess. It's not just Canada but British Columbia that comes into question.

I hope all is well with the JCL family,  and wish them all the best.

OMG if something like this is true why is it that some feel that you must pit one country against another or one Province against a State  :?

Running two separate faciliies must be onerous at best or could just boil down to where the majority of THIS family prefers to reside for a host of reasons it could be for something as minor as what school JCL's grandchild prefers to attend. From the outside looking in; Oxnard appears to be pretty close to paradise from my perspective

Or it all could be another one of those silly rumours. Must wait and see :cheers

Regardless if there is one facility or two I can't see a thing changing in the end product that I get to grasp

It wouldn't seem right to have no Larrivees made in Canada.

There's a reason Canadians call British Columbia the Left Coast. But I'm not sure which is more socialist, British Columbia or California and I'm a Californian.

Would matter little to me so long as they are made. Jeeze the more I think about it the more it makes sense to have one facility. Doesn't it  :? Regardless of locale.

Don't know about the veracity of these rumors....BUT......with the sitka coming from Canada....you'd have to say that a big part of the guitar was made in BC Canada…..........being a teenager and college student from the 60's....I say....LONG LIVE GAS TOWN.

Ahhhh rumors.... :bgrin:

Like over 50?

Too many guitars to list here.
Too few brain cells to be bothered with...

I heard they were moving production to the international space station. I heard it from a guy who heard it from a guy who heard it from a beer enthusiast.
