Tonight GOD BLESS AMERICA was sung by a Texan with a twang and a very nice looking sunburst  Collings.
He ain't the best singer or player out there, but I did enjoy it very much.
This weekend is the Collings gathering here in the Austin area. I didn't go to the all day events today. But tomorrow I'll head out to the hill country on my motorcycle and enjoy some picking and grinning with those good folks.
Gotta keep my dream alive, ie. some day a nice Collings will be mine.
For now I have plenty of guitars to enjoy. In fact I've got a OOO-40R  on the way.

Great weekend plans Danny. Enjoy!

Wouldn't mind a Collings in my stable either.

Looking forward to your posts on the 000-40R

Guitar was way better than the performer. We'll put it down as nerves but that was awful hard to listen to.  ohmy

Yup, but as the camera showed the crowd, it was all smiles.

Speaking of nerves, at the Collings gathering yesterday when it came to my turn the first song went fine. But later on when I played a song that I wrote,  the words vaporized and my mind went blank. They were gracious and said "next year".
Since I came on my motorcycle, no guitar. But within no time I had two offers to lend me one. So I played a Collings OM, Sitka/ rosewood. It was like my OM-21 On steroids.

For now it looks like Collings is still making guitars. Unfortunately, my favorite guitar shop,  Hill Country Guitars is being sold. They stocked Collings,  Larrivee,  H & D, etc. Plus lots of electrics.
I doubt any new owner will be close to the level they were. I suppose the inventory may be sold off piecemeal as well. Easily over a million there. Some very high dollar older electrics etc.

Hey, I totally respect what he does in his day job. However, I try not to go running into buildings and attempt to put out fires. Is it too much to ask the same?

So tonite "The Weight" was played with the video Promo.

I guess tonite is the biggest shoot out so far.  11- 8 Houston in the 7th.

Not to put too fine a point on it...
And like so many of us, this guy shouldn't quit his day job.
