I bought a Dean Markley California Series Tahoe pickup, brand new for $65.00 at a music store going out of business sale. It has both a soundhole pickup and an under saddle transducer type pickup. Anyone have any experience with these. I'm going to put it in my old Yamaha FG-180. The price was right and it came in a cool tin. I have a weakness for tins.   :laughin:

Uncle?

I sold and installed them too a few people,I think Koamon might have one in one of his guitars. Not a bad sounding pu.

la Jolla west coast pick up is the one WITH piezo.
looks like a terrific idea, with passive AND active options.
might have to investigate this myself!

thanks for the tip
"Senior" member means "old" right?
Like over 50?

Too many guitars to list here.
Too few brain cells to be bothered with...

Thet also had a modal that was a piezo,a magnetic soundhole and  there was a built in mic. They've done some cool stuff. The original sweetspot with the 6 piezio crystals was one of my favorite under the saddle.

Right you are, as I look closer. The can that it comes in has La Jolla on it. The soundhole pickup, itself, has Tahoe printed on it so the La Jolla must be a combination of a Tahoe and a .... anyway, I couldn't resist for the price. I dropped it off at the technician's place and told him I was in no rush. Should be back in a week. I'm very curious as to what it will do to that old Yammy. If I can plug it in and it sounds good, it will get a lot of use. I love that old plywood beast.
