Hey, I have been picking up the British music Mag Uncut for about a year now. It always comes with a free CD and sometimes they only have a few good songs on them. Other times, they are a major find!
Well, the latest one has a collection of tunes from the Year's Best Reissues. There is some very diverse stuff on this CD, including Alex Chilton of Big Star fame--even though that band was one of the most overlooked in history.
Anyway, the Willard Grant Conspiracy has a killer song on this CD called "Child's  Prayer." I am still working on all of the lyrics, but the "big guitar" sound is what attracted me to this group some years ago. Their guitar style reminds me of some Robyn Hitchcock and Turin Brakes.
Interesting!
