Who would have thought: my P-05 sounds better in C tuning that most of my pricier guitars. Less muddy in the bass, sounds really balanced compared to full size guitars. I use a custom set of John Pearse (13, 15, 26, 38, 48, 60).

My parlor is generally kept in standard, DADGAD, open d and g, but for some reason I've avoided open C, until recently.

Ya, awesome discovery! My OO-03SE sounds amazing in those deeper tunings.
