I am new to Larrivee guitars. I have an old 1932 Martin Archtop and was looking to trade for something different. I always wanted a d28 or d18. I was going to put it on consignment in a music store. So, I was there looking at all their high end guitars and drooling, and they had one Larrivee hanging on the wall. I tried it out and fell in love with it.
I am somewhat hard of hearing after spending 20+ years in a machine shop, but to me it just blew away a lot of the Martins there. I don't know if they had old strings or the difference in the strings between the 2 brands but, the sound of the Larrivee sold me. It is so clear and strong.
It is a OM-03K. The Koa back is beautiful. I was told it was a custom build or a limited run.
So, I financed it till I can sell the Martin.
I love Larrivees.

I have an OM-09K (since early December) which I love! The sound gets better all the time--and it started out good.
